CRAFT is now live, creating a dedicated home for people who work with charity data. In this month’s newsletter we introduce the community, invite charities to help pilot a new Beacon CRM Essentials Report, and share three small data tasks teams might want to review before the new financial year. We also highlight a growing shift in the sector from building dashboards to using insight to guide real decisions, alongside upcoming events including the CRAFT roundtable on 19 March. February covered the launch of Soft Opt-In for charities, three new Forge apps in CRAFT (including free tools), tackling data maturity challenges, tips for simplifying reports and running micro-stewardship campaigns, upcoming events, financial reporting threshold changes, and how to get more value from underused data.
Fresh year, fresh data momentum: January explored new tools including CRAFT and the newly launched EN Essentials dashboard, plus practical guidance on digital fundraising, data hygiene, and key sector events shaping charities’ 2026 plans.
We close 2025 with a practical round-up of end-of-year charity sector trends, key data insights, and early signals for 2026, along with updates from the ADA office, including the launch of CRAFT.
November’s edition focused on the final push of the year: tightening up charity data ahead of the Winter Budget and Giving Tuesday, protecting income by prioritising retention, and launching CRAFT — our new community space for fundraisers and analysts.
In October, we featured ADA at CIoF, responded to requests for peer spaces, broke down sector trends, gave board reporting advice, highlighted our streamlined Gift Aid submission tool, and signposted upcoming legal changes affecting fundraising.
